In a thrilling start to the Bicester Wednesday 5-a-side Football league season, the Premier League division kicked off last night with teams battling it out for early dominance in the league.
PREMIER LEAGUE
The standout match of the night was between new team RNO FC and last season runners up Ashton Villa FC, which saw the latter secure an impressive 6-2 victory. Despite RNO FC's efforts, Ashton Villa FC took control of the game and proved their offensive strength.
The game between Pickled Patch and Blokes ended 13-3 in favour of Pickled Patch. Their astounding performance showed a promising start to the season, as they proved to be a team to keep an eye on.
Men Behaving Chadli also made a strong statement by defeating Bog Standard Liege 7-0, demonstrating potent attacking flare and solid defensive work. Astro Snappers and Elmsbrook Utd also provided a thrilling match, ending in a tight 8-6 victory for Elmsbrook Utd.
In other matches, new boys Finnemores Under 8s secured an 8-4 victory against Every Other Week FC. Finnemores' star player, Xander Cameron, was named the most valued player of the week, adding extra firepower to a team full of potential.
Charlie Howlett of Elmsbrook Utd stood out as the top scorer of the Premier League division, netting an impressive five goals. His performance played a pivotal role in securing Elmsbrook's win and has set the bar high for the rest of the season.
With the season off to a cracking start, we are eager to see what the upcoming weeks of the Bicester Wednesday Premier League division have in store. The competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and every goal counts.
Thank you to Ben for running the evening and to all of our teams, good luck next week!
