This week marked the exciting start of the Bicester Wednesday 5-a-side Football League season. The games from the Premier League and Division 1 were filled with action, and we have the results to summarize this thrilling week.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, the competition heated up from the first whistle. RNO FC clashed with Ashton Villa FC in an engaging match, ending with a close score of 7-5 in favour of Ashton Villa FC. However, the astounding game of the night belongs to Flying Without Ings and Finnemores Under 8s. With a scoreline of 15-2, Flying Without Ings made a strong statement for the rest of the season. Cieran Newton, from Flying Without Ings, dominated the field by scoring an impressive total of 6 goals- the highest in the division this week. Men Behaving Chadli made a strong start with a 9-4 win over Elmsbrook Utd.
DIVISION ONE
The momentum continued in Division 1 with teams showcasing great potential. Astro Snappers managed a comprehensive win over Queens Park Strangers with a score of 13-5 while Pickled Patch convincingly defeated Pablo Hit-the-bar 9-2. Lewis Wilks from Pickled Patch made a significant contribution by scoring 6 goals, which declared him as the top scorer in Division 1.
This week's valued player award goes to Sam Pearce from Ashton Villa FC, a testament to his exceptional performance and undeniable contribution to the team's victory.
As the season begins, the Bicester Wednesday Football League has already shown the promise of high-quality football, thrilling games, and standout performances. The teams have set a high bar for the coming weeks, we can hardly wait for the next round of matches. So let's keep our eyes peeled for the rising stars and breath taking goals that are yet to come.
