The Beverley Monday 6-a-side league at the Bishop Burton College brought us some wonderful footballing action this week, with Division 1 hosting some particularly thrilling games at the start of a brand new campaign.
In the Premier League, the near-insurmountable Maradona Kebab resumed yet another title-defence, kicking off with a 5-0 win over Crouch Potato. WW claimed a walkover, and newly-promoted Nutty Nutters kicked off life in the top flight with a 2-1 win over Beverley La Coruna.
Division 1 saw Inter Peroni restart their quest for promotion after narrowly missing out last season. They began with a 6-0 battering of Fat Fighters, as The Academy started with a point to prove. After relegation, they showed their determination to climb back into the Premier League with a devastatingly-good display, beating Expected Toulouse 14-1. That's right, 14!
This wonderful display was followed up by another belter of a game, with Viking Rangers and Murder on Zidane's Floor playing out a thrilling 4-4 draw.
