A 1-1 draw was a result which probably favored league leaders Get The Sudocrem as they were able to maintain their 4 point lead over defending champions Gylfi Pleasures. Sudocrem's unbeaten run now extends to 8 games and includes 7 wins in that time.
They are however yet to play AC-6, who at one stage threatened to run away with the league but following a mini stutter over the past couple of weeks managed to get back on track last night with a 5-1 victory over a spirited Pensuf Crew side.
That means the gap between the top two is down to just one point, with the pair set to face off next week and will meet again in the final game of a season which is certain to have an intriguing run in.
Gylfi Pleasures and DST Leconfield are sure to keep up the pressure in the chasing pack and will be ready to pounce if the top two slip up. DST recorded a 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Inter Peroni last night and face Gylfi Pleasures next Monday in a week that sees 1st v 2nd and 3rd v 4th that will surely be pivotal in the title race.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, The Academy and Maradona Kebab drew 1-1, a result which lifts neither out of danger but edged both teams a point closer to safety.
In Division One, Cannonballs have barely needed a free hit this season but got one anyway with the Covid-related withdrawal of Fat Fighters, the 5-0 walkover victory paved the path to a 7-1 Points Match victory over The Academy.
Beverley La Coruna and Gylfi Swigurdsson are going along nicely and will be sure to keep Cannonballs honest in the promotion race, recording 2-0 victories over Special Branch and Expected Toulouse respectively to maintain the one point gap between the sides.
With Cannonballs 3 points clear at the top, form and league position suggest it will be them plus one of Beverley La Coruna and Gylfi Swigurdsson, but anything can happen at this stage of the season and with the three teams all playing each other over the next three weeks the table could soon have a different complexion.
The other game in Division One saw Have A Day Off record a tight 1-0 victory over SD7 FC in a close fought encounter.
