In the final week of the Gosport Monday 7-a-side Football league, the teams put on an impressive display of grit, determination, and skill on the pitch despite the heavy fog at times.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Lost Rovers showcased their dominance by defeating Gangstas Allardyce in a one-sided affair that ended 11-0, thanks to a spectacular performance by Kai Sterne, who netted four goals. This victory marked their 10th win, earning them a league-leading total of 20 points, and more importantly, the Division 1 championship. Elsewhere, Exeter Gently narrowly edged out Jewventus 2-1 while Real Sosobad clinched a thrilling victory over League 1 Crew, 4-3.
DIVISION TWO
Meanwhile, in Division 2, Borussia Teeth proved too strong for OnlyFouls, as they triumphed 3-0 with Oscar Bennett doing the majority of the damage, scoring a hat-trick. Bowsers Boys also had a night to remember, cruising past Blue Star Pompey with a decisive 5-1 victory. Haven't Jota Clue managed to scrape a narrow 2-1 win over Athletico Moretti. Bowsers Boys finished the season at the top of Division 2, boasting a total of 17 points and 8 wins to be crowned champions.
The final matchday of the season was a roller-coaster of emotions for all involved. The frenetic energy, coupled with the high stakes of the games, made for an unforgettable night of football. As the curtain draws on this season, we tip our hats to the Lost Rovers and Bowsers Boys for their excellent performances and look forward to even more heart-stopping action next season.
