New Gosport Monday 7 a side season gets underway!

The much-anticipated Gosport Monday Football League finally took off last night with high-energy games that marked the start of the new season. The first week saw a number of interesting encounters in both Division 1 and Division 2, setting the stage for a captivating season ahead.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, Exeter Gently emerged as a strong contender with an impressive 4-2 victory over Un Athletico Madrid. The star of the match was undoubtedly Ryan Trickett who scored a goal for Exeter Gently, making him the top scorer in Division 1 after the first round of matches. Lost Rovers also started their campaign on a positive note, defeating new team League 1 Crew 3-1, displaying a strong team performance that resulted in an impressive win over a strong team.

DIVISION TWO

Meanwhile, Division 2 saw some equally competitive matches. Bowsers Boys hit the ground running with a dominant 6-2 win over Athletico Moretti. This was followed by Blue Star Pompey, who exhibited a strong attacking display, defeating Working Class On Grass 7-2. The match between Borussia Teeth and Haven't Jota Clue ended in a 2-2 draw showing that the competition in Division 2 is heating up.

These opening matches have certainly set the tone for the rest of the season. With the top scorer titles still up for grabs in both divisions, the coming weeks promise to bring even more excitement and intense competition. As the season progresses, each team will look to build on their initial performances and move up the league tables, making the Gosport Monday Football League a must-watch event for all football enthusiasts.
