In an exhilarating week 15 of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football league, teams jostled in the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2, putting on a footballing display that will not be forgotten anytime soon.
In the Premier League, the action was intense with teams vying for the top spot. A big well done to all teams who were able to show up and play their exhillerating friendlies which were allocated. They ensured that they earned those points to keep them in the title race. We are all looking forward to next week when we see the Big Three facing each other and aiming to knock out the comp!
Moving onto Division 1, where The CTL Elite and Trooper FC battled it out in a tense standoff that ended in a 1-1 draw. WIP FC put on a dominating performance against Wheel FC, clinching a decisive 3-0 victory. Wheel won't feel too bad however, as they got the chance to taste glory by playing an additional friendly game against a Prem team earlier in the night - they put on a real show to be fair!
Norfolkinchance showcased their attacking prowess by defeating FC Prodigies 4-1. The other matches of the division saw Sheffield Monday drawing with Harriers 1-1. 2 Goals 1 Cup secured a win over Boys To Men with a final score of 4-2 which did not even land them with a Match of the Day status (crazy as it seems)! In Division 2, Norton FC made a strong statement by crushing Poms United with an impressive 9-0 victory, the highest in the division this week. They cruise to victory knowing that no other team out there can possibily hope of stealing their title crown. Meanwhile, Patty Freaks FC followed suit, handing Boat Inn Rovers a 5-0 defeat.
The match between Purple Cobras FC and Kepa Clean Sheet proved to be a goal-scoring festival, ending in a thrilling 5-5 draw. Absolutely unbelievable stuff, you would never see a game like this anywhere else. Just think of the tension, MotD for certain! In further developments, Scrambled Legs narrowly lost to MONDAY WARRIORS in a 1-2 defeat.
As we look forward to week 16, the competition is heating up, and it's clear that this league has a lot more action left to give! Who will earn the title glory? And whom shall scrape promotion or relegation?
