In a thrilling series of matches last night in the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League, teams across the Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2 competed in the 6th week of the season. Buckle up chaps, as this one's a cracker...
Kicking things off In the Premier League division, with our very tighly contested Match of the Day! Burntwood FC edged out Ray Priests in a high-scoring thriller securing an 8-6 win. End to end drama with a lot of work for both keepers it would seem.
Moving onwards, the Gradient also triumphed with a comfortable 4-0 victory over M Bangers, while FC Prodigies and Wheel FC shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, reflecting the intense competition in the division.
Over in Division 1, Norton FC edged past Boys To Men with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. Patty Freaks FC pulled off a 2-0 win against Norton Canes, whilst Sheffield Monday clinched a narrow 2-1 win over Bottom FC. Moreover, Kepa Clean Sheet came out on top against Harriers in a tight 3-2 tussle. Miniscule margins between all these teams which is just what the doctor ordered!
The Division 2 games witnessed yet more impressive performances, making last night a real fan-festival of drama! Purple Cobras FC annihilated Goals 1 Cup 4-1 and Scrambled Legs outplayed Poms United with a 3-1 win.
The matchup between MONDAY WARRIORS and Trooper FC was an intense one, ending in a 4-3 victory for Trooper FC. Lastly, Boat Inn Rovers and Unathletico Madrid ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Both of these teams never ceasing to entertain recently, and this was certainly the case as they concluded the session! 2 teams which are finally starting to find their feet in this inclusive league.
Despite fierce competition, the top scorers for each division were Burntwood FC in the Premier League, Kepa Clean Sheet in Division 1, and Purple Cobras FC in Division 2. These teams displayed exceptional skill and strategy, setting a high bar for the remaining matches of the season.
