In a thrilling night of football action, the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League saw several teams battling it out in week 7 of the season. The fixtures were part of the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 schedules.
In the Premier League, an exciting clash saw our newest Premier League entrants land on our astro turf in the form of a fireball! Clinching a Match of the Day title on their first ever fixture. Unpoetically, Burntwood FC edged out newbies Bloxwich Tigers FC with a eye watering 5-4 victory. Exciting things to come from them we think, nonetheless.
In the other entertaining PL match, Wheel FC clinched a narrow 3-2 win over The Gradient, showcasing some brilliant football tactics and team spirit on the pitch. Could this be one of our closest Prem league tables ever? It's all up for grabs!
In Division 1, Boys To Men highlighted their dominance over Norton Canes, recording a staggering 8-1 victory. In another encounter, Norton FC and Bottom FC were evenly matched, scoring a goal each to share the spoils.
Sheffield Monday and Harriers also had an even contest in our Division 1 highlight. This came in the form of a 2-2 draw, keeping spectators on the pitch edge till the final whistle.
The Division 2 matches offered their share of intense action too. Poms United took the advantage over 2 Goals 1 Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory. Scrambled Legs showcased their form by beating Boat Inn Rovers 5-0, while Unathletico Madrid overpowered Trooper FC with a bizzare 5-2 win. Our late fixture therefore drew many spectators back to the pitch instead of departing early!
Last night we welcomed a whopping 4 new teams making their debuts in varying forms. A warm shake of the hand to:
Bloxwich Tigers FC
TTFC
Queens Park Strangers
Pro Clubs Irl
The future looks bright for many of these lads... Unbelievably we have even more vying to get on our fixture sheet. We have plans to launch our exciting new division very soon as spaces are almost all gone! If you are interested in joining then get a wriggle on and sign up soon!
With week 7 coming to a conclusion, the teams are looking forward to their next round of fixtures, intending to climb the standings ladder. Only time will tell who will come out on top in the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League.
