The Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league delivered another exciting week of action as it entered its 8th week of competition. Remember that next week we are not playing due to the bank holiday.
In the Premier League, Burntwood Fc and The Gradient squared off in a thrilling back-and-forth encounter. Honestly, we don't know how they do it but a 10 goal thriller has to go down as Match of the Day in any case! The super tennis style match ended in a 5-5 draw. Amazing! In another rollercoaster, Wheel FC continued their impressive form with a hard-fought 4-2 victory over The CTL Elite.
Meanwhile, FC Prodigies steamrolled past Ray Priests with a 4-0 win. In the most high-scoring match of the division, Bloxwhich Tigers FC showed their teeth, defeating M Bangers 5-2. Our newest team really landing on their feet with a bold statement...
Division 1 saw further closely contested matches. Boys To Men suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Sheffield Monday. Harriers and Patty Freaks FC shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Norton FC pulled off a 2-1 victory against Kepa Clean Sheet. Not a real festival for goals in the division, but entertaining nonetheless!
The Division 2 fixtures turned out to be more one-sided. Trooper FC dominated 2 Goals 1 Cup, posting a convincing 5-1 win. Unathletico Madrid suffered a heavy 9-1 defeat at the hands of Scrambled Legs. Purple Cobras FC edged past Boat Inn Rovers with a 1-0 win. Finally, Monday Warriors maintained their winning streak with a 4-0 victory against Poms United. Sometimes you never know what to expect on a classy Monday night...
Despite the fierce competition, some players managed to stand out as top scorers in their respective divisions. These outstanding performances highlight the skill and competitiveness present in the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side league. With the season heating up, next sessions fixtures promise to be just as exciting!
We look forward to seeing you all in a fortnight and hopefully welcoming yet more fresh faces to our league very soon indeed!
