Burntwood Monday's 6-a-side football league lit up the field last night with an exciting display of skills, strategy, and sportsmanship. Here is a rundown of the week 13 results from the Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, and our special Division 6.
In the Premier League, we have our focal point - Wheel FC pulled off a resounding victory over CTL Elite with a final scoreline of 4-1. With Burntwood having a friendly and a guaranteed win, Wheel knew they had to perform and that's exactly what they did. The Premier League title race will go down to The wire! The other match saw FC Prodigies outperform Fat Knacker V2, securing a 5-2 win.
Over in Division 1, Patty Freaks FC narrowly triumphed over Harriers with a 2-1 win. Norton FC managed a close 3-2 win against Kepa Clean Sheet, while Bottom FC topped Queen Park Strangers with a dominant 6-0 victory. Sheffield Monday and Boys To Men ended their match in a goalless draw, showcasing stellar defensive performances.
The Bottom FC thumping meant that they catch up on that potentially important goal difference stat. However, Sheffield Monday getting unexpectedly held to a draw means that a win next week is their only hope for glory! Paul Marsden has already cleared space in the trophy cabinet - will all go to plan though!?
Division 2 featured a tight match between Trooper FC and 2 Goals 1 Cup, with the latter securing a 1-0 victory. Our splendid Match of the Day features Scrambled Legs who bested Unathletico Madrid in a high-scoring match of 5-3! 8 fine goals is fab to see... In other late drama, MONDAY WARRIORS eked out a win against Poms United with a 3-2 final score.
Purple Cobras absence, combined with yet another win... means Scrambled Legs have put the division beyond doubt and clinch the trophy - congratulations lads! Monday Warriors narrow win fits in with this trend nicely too. The battle for second place will therefore be decided on the final day!
Finally, in Division 6, Bargain Beers And Wines drew 2-2 with Havent Jota Clue FC. 2 new bucks locking horns it would seem? Dank Fc delivered a stunning 9-1 triumph over Munter Hunters which certainly raised a few eyebrows! Meanwhile Norton Canes scraped a win against Inter Your Nan United with a final score of 5-4. An absolute riot!!
The Pro Clubs Irl and Class On Grass ended their match in a stalemate with a 0-0 score. The less said about this match the better I think haha! Both teams needing to find their shooting boots for next week. From then onwards, all new teams will enter into our huge new main league! It's gonna be a blast!!
The top scorers for each division were Wheel FC in the Premier League, Bottom FC in Division 1, Scrambled Legs in Division 2, and Dank Fc in Division 6. Their exceptional performance and scoring prowess have set new standards for the following weeks. Think you can do better? We are always on the hunt for fresh talent! Or even just a few mates looking for a decent weeknight laugh...
Stay tuned for more updates on the Burntwood Monday's 6-a-side football league as teams continue to battle for supremacy on the pitch. FINAL GAME WEEK IS NEXT MONDAY - STRAP UP!
A big final shout out to Matthew the eager young ref! Who kindly volunteered to be ball boy for 3 hours. Even climbing up a tree to fetch a dodgy shot from Unathletico Madrid! Big things to come from him moving forward we hope...
See you all next week!
It's gonna be a big one...
