The Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league concluded its exciting 14-week season with an epic display of talent and stamina. The final night was filled with action-packed matches across four divisions - Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, and the newbies in Division 6.
In the Premier League, Wheel FC stamped their authority, securing a resounding 4-0 victory over Fat Knacker V2. With an impressive total of 23 points from 11 wins, Wheel FC clinched the Premier League title, emerging as our newest top dogs of the division. M Bangers and Burntwood Fc's clash was also a spectacle, concluding with Burntwood FC securing a whopping 10-2 win. They tried their very best, and smashed in as many goals as possible. But it was all in vain since Wheel kept their end of the bargain! They are forced to relinquish their crown!
Moving to Division 1, Bottom FC displayed a stellar performance to narrowly beat Boys To Men 1-0, which saw them secure the Division 1 crown. They ended their league campaign with a total of 21 points and 10 wins. Sheffield Monday also picked up a win, this wasn't enough for the trophy - but it did at least secure them second place. In other news, noobs in the shape of Bargain Beers And Wines also secured a clean 3-0 victory over Kepa Clean Sheet.
In Division 2, Scrambled Legs took home the title. The team was in blistering form as they demolished Trooper FC 9-1, concluding the season with an impressive 24 points from 12 wins. Almost a clean sweep season and an insane goal difference in the bag too! MONDAY WARRIORS were involved in a huge upset with 2 Goals 1 Cup's clash ending their podium hopes with a resounding 5-1 win for 2G1C. Somehow, this meant that the Warriors agonisingly let second place slip past them - game over!
Division 6 saw Dank Fc securing the title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Queen Park Strangers. Norton Canes faced a heavy defeat against Havent Jota Clue FC, the match ending 7-1. Definitely eager beavers for next season!
A big congratulations to the winners of each division - Wheel FC, Bottom FC, Scrambled Legs, and Dank Fc. Their determination and displays of skill throughout the season were truly commendable. As we bid goodbye to an exhilarating season, the countdown begins for the next - Bigger and better! Until then, football fans can rejoice in the memories of yet another thrilling season of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league.
Fixtures for next season will be released at 8pm on Thursday night. Remember, at Leisure Leagues we employ running seasons back to back. So Monday night coming will be your first games of the new season! Hopefully we will all be in a good mood following an inspirational England final!
