Football fans were at the edge of their seats last night as week three of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league unfolded with thrilling results across all four divisions - Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3.
In the Premier League division, Burntwood FC made a statement win with a resounding 5-1 victory against Wheel FC. The match was a display of skill and tenacity, proving why Burntwood FC are considered top contenders. Remember, this was against the team which cost them back to back champions trophies last season! Will this ignite a classic rivalry we wonder?
In other matches, Sheffield Monday and Willian Dollar Baby ended in a one-all draw, while The CTL Elite edged out FC Prodigies 2-1. The contest of Norton FC and Harriers was a blast of a game! 7 goals which saw the classy Norton Lads win a tightly contested match with a beefy 4-3 scoreline.
Over in Division 1, Patty Freaks FC claimed a slender 1-0 win over Havent Jota Clue FC. M Bangers found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat against Scrambled Legs. Basic FC lost to Monday Warriors 2-4, and Dank FC closed out the division with a commanding 3-0 victory over Boys To Men.
In Division 2 action, PSV Hangover and Bargain Beers And Wines battled it out to a 1-1 draw, as did Kepa Clean Sheet and Soup King FC, proving the division's competitiveness. You have to ask yourself though, where were all the sharp shooters!?
Division 3 saw Queen Park Strangers fall 2-1 to Class On Grass, Pro Clubs Irl succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against TTFC, and Munter Hunters convincingly beat Inter Your Nan United 6-1. Goals galore down here, as team give their all to avoid that nasty wooden spoon position!
