In an exhilarating week 7 of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football league, thrills and spills were aplenty across the four divisions. Fans were treated to a series of electrifying displays of skill, grit, and teamwork that all epitomized the spirit of the beautiful game.
In the Premier League, Wheel FC dominated the pitch, thrashing FC Prodigies 9-0 in a display of raw power and precision. Sheffield Monday edged out Harriers in a closely fought 2-0 encounter while The CTL Elite squeezed past Norton FC with a narrow 2-1 win. Harriers' player, George Taylor, despite the loss, stood out with his exceptional performance and was named the most valued player of the week.
Division 1 saw Scrambled Legs outmaneuver Havent Jota Clue FC in a 3-1 victory. Keeping up the pressure on those pesky poster boys at the top! Speaking of which... Monday Warriors made short work of Patty Freaks FC, ending the game 4-0. Boys To Men and M Bangers played out an increasingly rare goalless draw, while Basic FC secured a 3-1 victory over Dank FC.
In Division 2, 2 Goals 1 Cup edged past Trooper FC 2-1 in last night's super dooper Match of the Day! Nice work, as they stride further away from the competition behind. Meanwhile Purple Ake managed a 3-2 win over the in-form Bargain Beers And Wines. Soup King FC steamrolled Unathletico Madrid 14-2, and PSV Hangover tasted defeat in a 3-2 loss to Kepa Clean Sheet.
The Division 3 clashes were equally exciting. TTFC claimed a 2-1 victory over Class On Grass. Albeit narrow - they keep on their almost blemish-free start to the campaign. How I Met Your Mata FC toppled Queen Park Strangers 2-1. Pro Clubs Irl and Inter Your Nan United ended on level terms with a 1-1 draw, and Munter Hunters stamped their authority with a 5-1 win over Purple Cobras FC. Making them the new favourites to cause the TT crew some worries at the top!
As the league moves into the eighth week, all teams will be looking to build on their performances, making for some tantalizing matches in the upcoming week.
