In the heart of the competitive Burntwood Monday football league, the week 6 results have been thrilling, with teams across all four divisions delivering their best performance to claim the top spot. We also welcome new team Whopper Walsh officially into our league. Let’s see how they get on!
In the Premier League division, Dank FC came out strong with a convincing 6-2 win over Sheffield Monday. Norton FC also held their ground to provide an upset against Burntwood FC. It finished 2-2 in a tightly contested match, while The CTL Elite and Harriers were evenly matched, ending in a 3-3 draw.
Bunch Of Scruffs and Scrambled Legs ended their match with a high-scoring game, with Scruffs taking the victory 6-4. This certainly makes this one our Match of the, and indeed the result of the Day… With CTL and Burntwood both drawing. They creep up the table into second and make up some progress on top!
The Division 1 saw Patty Freaks FC maintaining their winning streak, by beating Diddys Dribblers in a resounding 5-0 victory. The Grillbillies also managed to keep a clean sheet against Basic FC, winning their match 2-0. Meanwhile, 2 Goals 1 Cup overcame Schwartzs Young Kids with a 4-1 win. It’s still an incredibly tight race for second position!
In Division 2, Class On Grass shall be relishing their 3-0 victory over Davos Diddy Party. A balanced performance between PSV Hangover and Boys To Men resulted in a 1-1 draw, while Paul’s Rent Boys claimed a 3-1 victory over National Gridiots.
Finally, in the Division 3, Whopper Walsh and Karius To Glory couldn't break the deadlock and settled for a 0-0 draw. Pro Clubs Irl managed to edge out Trooper FC 2-1. The last game of the night saw Queen Park Strangers fall 1-3 to Unathletico Madrid. It now ends up with a 4, and nearly 5-way tied race for the title down here. Talk about being split wide open!
