In a thrilling climax to the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League, the final week of the season saw a fantastic showcase of skill, determination, and teamwork. As the dust settled, only the strongest teams emerged as victors in their respective divisions.
In the Premier League, Bunch Of Scruffs emerged as the outright Champions! It came with a strong performance, scoring a 3-1 victory over Sheffield Monday, amassing a total of 25 points from 12 wins. The team's cohesion and tactical acuity proved too much for their opponents, securing them the title in style. Our newest top dogs who take the crown from Burntwood FC who finished a close 2nd.
Division 1 saw a similarly impressive performance from Athletico Bilbao Baggins who clinched the title a few weeks ago! Incredible! A special mention in this league goes out to AC Minans Bushy, who have hit the ground running with a 3-1 win against The Grillbillies. A super competitive division nonetheless.
Paul’s Rent Boys ruled Division 2, defeating PSV Hangover in the ultimate, final, Match of the Day. It turned out to be a thrilling 5-4 game, displaying both teams offensive power and defensive resilience. Their 13-win run totaled them an impressive 26 points, leaving their rivals trailing in their wake! Congrats lads!
Finally, Division 3 was eventually dominated by Karius To Glory. With a 3-0 victory over Inter Your Nan United, they demonstrated the perfect balance between attack and defense. They ended their campaign with a total of 24 points and 11 wins. Leaving it incredibly late to find the cutting edge, all edge away from the competition. A very big well done and commiserations to Whopper Walsh, who were not far off the mark and finish in 2nd… promotion awaits!
The Burntwood Monday 6 a side Football League has indeed drawn to a close, but the memories of this exciting season will undoubtedly linger. This season has seen many standout performers, but the top scorers from each division have certainly left their mark. Their names will forever be etched in the annals of the league as they look forward to back their success in the upcoming season. Congratulations to all the winners!
With teams switching divisions, it will be exciting to see how all teams fair, both old and new! Next season rolls straight in and commences on Monday Night coming up. The fixture list including kick off times will be released on Thursday at 3pm.
