Burntwood Monday 6 a side news 2025-03-10

Play in the Burntwood Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

In the opening week of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league, Premier League's teams displayed impressive athleticism and team coordination. We kick off this roundup with none other than the first Match of the Day instalment. In a thrilling display, Burntwood FC outplayed Scrambled Legs, finishing with an 8 goal thriller comprising a 5-3 victory. Hitting the ground running, Burntwood FC appear to be motivated to retake their title after having to hand it over last season…

In other games, Sheffield Monday, a dominant force in the Premier League, held their ground against 2 Goals 1 Cup, with a resounding 6-1 victory. Bunch Of Scruffs also had a successful run against Dank FC, with a final score of 4-2. The current title markers also off the mark for the new season.

In Division 1, the goals were hard to come by! Patty Freaks FC edged out a 2-1 victory against Victor Moses Garden. In a head-to-head clash, newly relegated Harriers and The Grillbillies ended in a stalemate with a 0-0 draw. Meanwhile Norton FC bested Basic FC in a close 2-1 match.

Over in Division 2, P M T FC and Diddys Dribblers battled for superiority, but neither team managed to break the deadlock, ending the match in yet another bizarre 0-0 draw. Burntwood Ballers FC and Whopper Walsh fought hard, but ultimately shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Two teams to certainly watch moving forward! PSV Hangover eked out a 2-1 victory against Karius To Glory. A rare taste of defeat for Karius, who have of course just gained promotion after being crowned Div3 champs last Monday.

Division 3, meanwhile, saw action as Inter Your Nan United took a 4-2 victory over Pro Clubs Irl. Class On Grass and FCDapperGirls ended in a 2-2 draw. In another match, Broadfield FC defeated Davos Diddy Party 2-0, and Queen Park Strangers managed a 2-1 win over Trooper FC. Plenty of tasty matches down here. A division full of entertaining which (as proved lately), really can change at any given moment!

As the season has just begun, it's too early to predict the top contenders in each division. However, with players giving their best, we can be sure that there'll be a tight competition for the top scorers' spot in each division. Stay tuned for more exciting football action in the coming weeks.
