It was a good evening's football once again in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league with everyone in attendance across both divisions and some excellent football played.
It remains tight at the top of the Premier Division with just three points separating 5 teams. SOTC FC are the new league leaders following their 3-1 win over Mean Machine whilst Burntwood Lions dropped to second after a stalemate with Shush FC. Burntwood Dad's moved into third place and level with second as they put in a disciplined performance against AFC 55 to secure a 2-0 win. The Gradient slipped to fourth spot as they couldn't be separated from opponents Tea and Busquets, both teams had to settle for a point in a game that ended 1 a piece. Performance of the week was from Janine The Dream who hammered She Was Only XI 8-0, boosting their goal difference to +10 in the process.
Division One looks slightly more comprehensive as the top two are separated by 5 points from the rest of the division. Six Offenders remain top of the table with an impressive record of 9 wins from 10, they ran out 2-0 winners over Monday Club whilst second placed Norfolkinchance keep the pressure on the leaders, they were 3-1 winners over CTL Elite to remain a point off the pace. Chasetown Seniors moved up to third place with an 8-0 thrashing of Don't Mata and Gabe Itches now sit in fourth after a 3-0 win against Obi Wan Bissaka. The Dukes returned to action after missing the week before bank holiday and secured a 2-1 victory over Bantalona, a result which moves them clearer of the bottom teams.
We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment towards the league which is helping things run so well for all involved at present.
Good luck to all teams going into game week 11 with Burntwood's premier provider of small sided football!
