It was a good start to the new season in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week with some entertaining fixtures played throughout the night across all three divisions. In a rare turn of events, no matches finished level so all teams are either on 2 points or zero after the first weeks action.
Chase FC certainly didn't waste any time in racing to the top of the table as they picked up an 8-0 win over Exeter Gently. Burntwood AFC were 4-2 winners over Norfolkinchance in an entertaining encounter as were Dyslexia Untied in a 5-2 win over new team FC Bantalona.
In Division One The Price Is Right started the campaign off in style as they cruised past Absolutely Fabregas, 6-0 the full time score as they have a healthy looking goal difference. Walkabout FC are also in fine fettle as they beat EGFC 6-1 in their first game since promotion from Division Two. There were also wins for Burntwood Dads and Only Fools & Scorers to round off the action for the evening.
Despite their relegation last season, Lloyds look as though they will be a class above the rest in Division Two, albeit after only one game as they thrashed Class on Fake Grass 11-2. Monday Club also won their first game since relegation as they beat Chasetown Seniors 3-1. Mean Machine also played out an entertaining encounter with Unitech United, 3-2 the final score as Mean Machine edged it.
We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Burntwood's premier provider of small sided football.
