It was another excellent evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance for their scheduled matches and some entertaining games played across both divisions.
8th Place FC have decided to move over to the Sunday league with immediate effect due to availability of players. We are pleased to welcome new team Largentina to the league as their replacement and wish these good luck going into their first fixture with us on Monday 7th February!
Pete Scores Bangers won again this week to keep their place at the top of the table, they were convincing 5-0 winners of the The CTL Elite, they are however closely followed by Burntwood FC who's 9-1 thrashing of Burntwood Dads keeps them a point off the pace. Bumfica are also in contention for top spot as they also sit on 8 points, adding to their impressive start with a convincing 5-1 victory against Chasetown Seniors. Janine The Dream moved away from the relegation places as they were 2-1 winners over The Gradient in a closely contested game.
Division One leaders Another Team FC lost 5-0 this week due to a late cancellation, but return to action on Monday 7th February, they continue to lead the table but see their lead cut to a point as a trio of teams trail them by a single point. Ajax Treesdown cling on to second place but were beaten 2-1 against Second 2 None in a surprise result, whilst Borussia Teeth's 2-1 victory against Norfolkinchance sees them in the chasing pack. The Dukes recovered from a heavy defeat last week as they were 4-1 winners over Obi-Wan Bissaka, whilst Inter Your Nan and FC Bantalona could not be separated in a game that ended 1 a piece.
We wish all teams, including our new boys good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Burntwood's premier small sided football providers!
