Overall it was a good evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week. There were however cancellations from three teams which is extremely rare for this league. All have been spoken to though and we look forward to seeing Burntwood Dads, Janine The Dream and Chasetown Seniors return on Monday 11th April.
The Premier Division's results were affected by the cancellations, but in the two league games which went ahead, leaders Pete Scores Bangers ran out 5-0 winners over The CTL Elite to keep their place at the summit, whilst Largentina picked up their fourth win on the spin as they were 6-0 winners over Tea & Busquets.
Division One leaders MV Kelly continue to cruise towards the title as they were comfortable 4-0 winners over Norfolkinchance, extending their lead over second place Another Team to five points, as they suffered a surprise 3-1 reverse at the hands of Borussia Teeth who now move level on points with this weeks opponents as they make a late play for promotion. Second 2 None still have an outside chance of going up, they sit in fourth place and just two points off the teams above them after a hard fought 2-1 win against Inter Your Nan.
FC Bantalona moved away from the foot of the table after an impressive 3-1 win over The Dukes, whilst bottom of the table Obi Wan Bissaka suffered a hefty 14-2 defeat against Hit N Miss United.
We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Burntwood's premier providers of small sided football!
