It was a superb evening of 6 a side football in Burntwood on Monday which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night including two new teams, Bandits and No Fuchs Given who played their first fixtures with us. We are also pleased to confirm that a third new team will be joining us on Monday 11th March. We wish Expected Toulouse the best of luck in their first fixture which sees all three divisions full again.
Chase FC may only be three points clear at the top of the Premier Division, but they won the one that mattered this week as they beat perennial second placed team Brutal Deluxe 2-0 in a game that sees their opponents overtaken by Burntwood AFC who were 5-0 winners over Bantalona. Exeter Gently ran out 5-1 winners as they faced Norfolkinchance this week, moving them into fifth place, whilst Giroud Let The Dogs out were 4-2 victors against Dyslexia Untied, which moves them into fourth.
Walkabout FC ensured some distance was put between them and second placed Burntwood Dads as the two met this week, a match which Walkabout ran out 2-1 winners and now move into third place. Gibbo's move to within a point of second place after a 2-0 win over The Dukes, and Only Fools and Scorers and The Price Is Right played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Monday Club look like they have an unassailable lead at the top of Division Two, winning their eighth game in a row, this week 7-3 against Class on Fake Grass. They are five points clear of second placed Unitech United despite them beating Lloyds 4-1 this week. Mean Machine moved to third place and above Sex Drugs and CC who drop to fifth after Mean Machine beat them 4-2 this week. Finally new team Bandits picked up a 2-2 draw in their opening game against Chasetown Seniors.
We wish all teams the best of luck going into the next round of fixtures with Burntwood's premier small sided football.
