Monday 9th August - Burntwood Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week with all 24 teams in attendance for their fixtures across all three divisions which was once again pleasing to see.

Janine The Dream stay top of the pile in what is already shaping up to be a close Premier Division, they ran out 6-3 winners over Burntwood Dads in what was a thriller of a fixture.  Burntwood FC piled misery on bottom of the table Norfolkinchance, an 8-1 drubbing continuing Norfolk's difficult start to the campaign went on another week.

Pete's Bangers sit top of the Division One table with a third win in four matches, a 3-1 win over She Was Only XI their latest triumph as they stay unbeaten so far this term.  Burntwood Lions were shut out for the first time this season so drop to second on goal difference, a 0-0 draw against Inter Your Nan this weeks result, although the meanest defence across all divisions remains intact as they kept their fourth clean sheet in a row.

In Division Two, 8th Place FC are turning the table on its head as they sit top of the pile so far, an entertaining 2-2 draw against Men With Ven their latest result.  Fellow newcomers to the league Unbelievable Jeff moved into second place as the experienced side continued their impressive start to life in the league, they recorded a resounding 5-1 victory over Gabe Itches this week.

We are pleased to see the league running as smoothly as it is at present and thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league.
