BURNTWOOD - The Burntwood Sunday Football League commenced their new season last night, with the teams battling it out in the Premier League and Division 1. Some teams were keen early doors already starting to define the standards.
In the Premier League, D.T.F.C started the season with a significant victory against Zingers FC, securing a 3-0 win. Zero Elites also displayed an impressive performance, sweeping Sunday Ringers Utd with a 4-0 win. Off to a flying start as they look to add to their impressive record. The Barely Athletic and Al-Ettifaq In Ell Ref match ended in a goalless draw, while Barz Click narrowly beat Peek Eboue 2-1.
Over in Division 1, we find our Match of the Day. Hakuna Juan Mata outplayed Sporting Stonnall, finishing with a 3-0 win. A fabulous start for them! Can they keep it going? The Bottom Bunch FC and Obese City match also ended in a stalemate, with no goals scored.
The most stunning match of the evening was between Ball Of Duty and Warriors, with the Warriors demonstrating their dominance on the pitch, securing a massive 8-0 victory. Ladzio Fc beat new boys M S Opeless 8-1, while Greggs On Legs suffered a painful 0-4 defeat against FC R United.
With the season just starting, the teams are still warming up with the early leaders raising all the eyebrows so far.
We anticipate more action in the coming weeks as the teams continue to find their footing and battle for the top spots in their respective leagues. All eyes are on the Premier League and Division 1 as we keenly await the next games.
