In the latest round of the Burntwood Sunday 6 a-side Football League, teams from two divisions - the Premier League and Division 1 - battled it out on the pitch, marking the 13th week of the season.
In the Premier League, D.T.F.C managed a narrow victory over Top Notch, with a final score of 1-0. A tantalising fixture at the top which now sees these two legends level on points!
The battle between Sunday Ringers Utd and Al-Ettifaq In Ell Ref saw the latter emerging victorious with a 3-1 scoreline. A real shocker which keeps the Premier League dream still alive for those below! Real Unfitico lost to Zingers FC in a close match that ended 3-2. The highlight of the evening up here was the match between Yam Yam Army and Palace In Paris, where the latter ran riot with a whopping 7-0 triumph.
The Division 1 matches were no less exciting. Hakuna Juan Mata succumbed to a 6-2 defeat by FC R United. If you fancied anyone to cause an upset it’d be Hakuna. Alas this grim defeat saw them slip down the table. That was because their fierce rivals Bottom Bunch FC convincingly beat M S Opeless 4-0! Meanwhile, lower down, STF FC lost 2-1 to Sporting Stonnall.
A closely contested match between Ladzio Fc and Warriors ended with a 2-1 victory for the Warriors. We then round off the sesh with the latest Match of the Day installation! It saw a 4 goal thriller where Potato FC and Obese City concluded a dramatic end to end encounter with a 2-2 draw.
As the league moves into its 14th week, all the teams will be looking to improve upon their performances and climb up the ladder in their respective divisions. There’s not long left to make an impact!
