In an electrifying final week of the Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side Football League, Sunday Ringers Utd and FC R United emerged as victorious champions in their respective divisions, the Premier League and Division 1.
In the Premier Division, Sunday Ringers Utd put on a masterclass, defeating Top Notch with a convincing 5-0 victory. Game, set and match as they cruise past one of their oldest rivals. Their unyielding performance throughout the season earned them a total of 32 points, with 16 wins under their belt. Undoubtedly, their consistency and team synergy have propelled them to the top spot in the league. A big shout out to DTFC who have been constantly climbing the ranks over the past couple years, and come runners up!
Meanwhile, in the Division 1, FC R United demonstrated exceptional resilience and tactical prowess. In a nail-biting match against the Bottom Bunch FC, they managed to edge out their rivals with a 1-0 victory. It may have been a series of gritty, slim wins such as this - but they got the job done. Their triumphant performance in the final week took their total to an impressive 36 points courtesy of 18 wins, crowning them as the champions of Division 1. A ginormous mention goes to Hakuna Juan Mata who beat competitors Bottom Bunch by just a single Goal difference to claim the runners up spot!
In other Premier League encounters, Zingers FC displayed their attacking prowess by defeating Yam Yam Army 3-0, while D.T.F.C clinched a narrow 1-0 win against Peek Eboue. Over in Division 1, a flurry of high-stakes matches saw Ladzio Fc outmaneuver Obese City 2-1, Sporting Stonnall fall to Warriors with a slim 1-0 scoreline. Today's MotD has to be that all important tie between Potato FC and HJM. With BBFC losing to the FC R invincibles, they only needed a point against this top side to clinch 2nd spot. And a draw is exactly what Hakuna pulled off, 1 a piece!
