WEEKLY UPDATE FROM THE BURNTWOOD SUNDAY LEAGUE 12TH MAY

An excellent evening in the Burntwood Sunday 6 aside league held at the Leisure Centre as the new season kicked off in fine style.

We did have a late cancellation from Bacon Mbappe on the day and subsequent withdrawal from the league but as the popularity of this league continues to grow, they were replaced by Fat FC straight away. They gave an excellent account of themselves despite going down 6-1 to Ringers FC. The scoreline suggests that they were heavily beaten but that was not the case as the majority of goals conceded were on the break.

Top Notch took made an impressive start to the campaign with a commanding 13-0 victory over Pique Blinders to head the premier division after the first week. Match of the evening was an enthralling attacking display by Peek Eboue and Slightly Overweight with Peek running out 6-3 victors.

Division one saw Mourinho`s Elites move to the head of the table as they overcame a battling Jurgen Flopps side 5-1 to lead the division on goal difference. Both Fiorentina Turner and Box Of Chocolates FC registered 4-0 wins this week to lie in second place courtesy of the goals scored ruling.
