The highly-anticipated final week of the 6 a side Colchester Wednesday Football League concluded yesterday, culminating in a thrilling display of skill, teamwork, and determination. The league showcased some impressive performances, with teams battling it out in the Premier League and Division 1 divisions.

In the Premier League, You Should Have Seen Us 15 Years Ago celebrated a resounding victory, defeating Handball with a commanding scoreline of 5-2. Meanwhile, Kaizen FC faced a tough challenge against GRFC, who emerged victorious with a convincing 3-0 win. OutLawz and Gorski Eagles engaged in an intense battle, with the latter eventually claiming a narrow 3-2 victory. In another competitive match, Uber Groovy couldn't overcome the formidable FCC VETS, who secured a dominant 3-0 win.

The Division 1 matches were equally enthralling. Castle Lions, despite putting up a valiant effort, succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Old Mercenaries. Real Tey and NottinmymumsForest showcased their talents, ending the match in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Tey Old Fellas put up a fight against Hamilton Dads but ultimately fell short, losing 2-1. We Wish We Were Younger and Chesterwell FC treated spectators to a captivating display of skill, ending the match in a well-fought 3-3 draw.

As the final whistle blew, the league celebrated the remarkable achievements of the season's top performers. In the Premier League, FCC VETS emerged as the undisputed champions with an impressive 26 points and 13 wins, while NottinmymumsForest clinched the Division 1 title with an outstanding 27 points and 13 wins.

Individual players also left their mark on the league, with some exceptional goal-scoring performances throughout the season. In the Premier League, the top goal scorer David Hollingworth was  from FCC, who netted an impressive 18 goals. In Division 1 Tony Reilly from nottingmymumsForest  took home the title of top goal scorer, finding the back of the net 15 times.
