Colchester 6 A Side At Northern Gateway Sports Park Starts!
COLCHESTER 6 A SIDE FOOTBALL LEAGUE @ NORTHERN GATEWAY SPORTS PARK KICKS OFF!
Leisure Leagues 6 a side Colchester Kicked off their leagues at the prestigious Northern Gateway Sports Park this week. As with all new venue pitch dimensions, some tweaking and adjusting had to be made over the 2 days, to ensure our teams were getting the best football experience. We started the Wednesday night league playing in the smaller yellow pitch markings; however, it soon became evident that these dimensions were not going to work for our 6 a side football leagues at Northern Gateway Sports Park. Therefore, adjustments were made to the Thursday night league, where we extended the pitch size to the blue line markings. This allowed for a much-improved playing experience, where players were able to move the ball around more freely in open space. Due to the Venue not having the goals in place by 7pm we were delayed by 10 minutes. This led to all games being played with no half time – this allowed us to give you your full playing time. Going forward teams will be offered half time; however, a quick turnaround will be required.
I am in talks with the Groundsman to discuss the above small issues/concerns and I am confident these will be resolved by the time you all return next week.
VERY IMPORTANT IMFORMATION – PARKING
Please be aware that as from next week all car drivers will be required to enter the main building and input their car registration details onto a laptop system. This literally takes approx. 1 minute to complete; however, should you fail to do this you will more than likely receive a parking fine! Please pass this on to all your players so that they are fully aware of the parking system at Northern Gateway Sports Park.
ARRIVING AT THE PITCH
Please ensure your team players wait outside the pitch fencing, until called forward by the Match Night Manager. This is a policy set by Leisure World in accordance with Covid-19 regulations. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE - ONE TEAM WAS LATE BY 15 MINUTES THIS WEEK! This has a dramatic impact on the remaining games to be played. If your team are later than 5 minutes you can expect your game to be cancelled.
PITCH DISCIPINE/BEHAVIOUR
It has been raised to me that a team was drinking alcohol after their game at the venue. This is totally unacceptable and not permitted under the Venues Covid-19 Rules & Regulations. On completion of your game you are not to hang around the venue, please leave asap.
FINALLY
Well done to all teams in attendance and a super well done to those teams that got off to a flying start! A worthy mention goes to; Fosters FC for their thumping 10-nil win! - Clearly not on the beer Wednesdays! 15 Degrees with their impressive 8 nil win! Dirty Mike and the Boys with their impressive 8 Nil win, and Six offenders for a convincing 7-1 win. Onwards and upwards to next week. The Colchester 6 a side leagues at Northern Gateway Sports Park will adjust and adapt, to give you the best weekly playing experience!
