IMPORTANT LEAGUE INFORMATION - COLCHESTER 6 A SIDE LEAGUES AT NORTHERN GATEWAY
REVISED RULES
Slides - After receiving feedback from a number of teams we have now taken the decision to allow sliding for blocking and retaining of the ball. However, should the slide cause danger to an apposing player the Referee will award a free kick or penalty to the apposing team (and/or issue disciplinary cards to the offending player). SLIDING TACKLES ARE NOT PERMITTED.
POINTS MATCHES - Please be aware that if a team leaves the league and there is no new team to replace them, their league position will be replaced with a 'points match' team. If your team is assigned a fixture Vs a points match team, this means you will play a friendly fixture and automatically be awarded a 5 nil win, however you have to turn up and play the friendly to receive the win - Fixture fee remains. If you are the opposition team stepping in to play the friendly, this will be offered as a free game - no fee.
CANCELATION OF GAMES - Should you need to cancel a fixture, please inform your Area Manager at least 7 days in advance, as this will avoid you being charged the full fixture fee. The last couple of weeks 3 teams have cancelled their fixture on the day of their assigned fxture! Team captains should be asking for their players availability at least 1 week in advance, even better a month in advance. Furthermore, the Area Manager then has the complication of finding your opposition a friendly fixture, which isn't always achievable. PLEASE PLAN IN ADVANCE!
LEAVING THE LEAGUE - Should you want to remove your team from the league, please be aware that you are required to play out a two week notice period. This allows the Area Manager sufficient time to find a replacement team. Failure to play out your two week notice period will result in you being charged the two weeks fixture fees, totalling £64 (plus a further £32 should you have failed to turn up for your game at point of wanting to remove your team from the league).
VENUE COVID-19 RUES & REGULATIONS - Please continue to adhere to the Northern Gateway 6 a side Covid-19 Rules & Regs. Only the oncoming teams are permitted to enter the pitch 5 mins prior to their allocated fixture. The Match Night Manager will direct all teams to the warm up area.
