Week 1 of the New Season
In the burgeoning season of the Rubery Tuesday 6-a-side Football league, spectators were gifted with an intense night of football action. This marked the first week of the exciting competition, with teams in the Premier League Division displaying a thrilling showdown of football talent and strategy.
The first game displayed the tactical prowess of Pique Blinders FC who came out on top over AFC Kings Norton with a scoreline of 2-1. It was a closely fought battle, both sides leaving everything on the pitch with a late winner sealing the points for the league champions
Most Valuable Player - B Colebrooke (Pique Blinders)
A vastly different narrative unfolded in the following match when Selly Oak Swans FC trounced Gullet Gang 5-0 in a clinical display of football. Selly Oak Swans FC's striker Matty Page was in stellar form, netting 3 goals and securing his place as the top scorer in the Premier League Division for this week. His exceptional performance earned him the honors of the most valued player of the week.
South Side emerged victorious against Bartley Blues with a score of 4-2 in another thrilling encounter. The teams were evenly matched, but South Side managed to seize the opportunities and convert them into goals. Two goals from last season's top scorer McCoy helped win the game for Southside, as the look to make an impact in our new look league

In the final match of the evening, Wheezy Wanderers FC and Turves Troopers served up a goal fest, with the Wanderers edging out the Troopers 8-5. This frantic clash wrapped up an incredible start to the season.
