New season kicks off at Newton Abbot Monday 6 a side

It was the opening night of our Newton Abbot Monday 6 a side season last night at Coombeshead Academy. We had 4 of our regular teams there plus AFC Turkey who have recently joined and starting their first full season plus complete new boys Beckwiths Ballers who played their first game.

It was a tough first game for Beckwiths Ballers as they came up against the champions Newton Wanderers. It was one way traffic for most of the match and finished 9-0 to wanderers, heads up though Beckwiths once you find your feet in the league you'll be fine. Jack Knight and Austin West both scoring hat-tricks for Wanderers as they went top. Six Offenders new recruit Saul Vanes proved a hit in his first match as he helped them to a 6-3 victory over resilient FC Fairways with 4 goals. Finally AFC Turkey are showing an improved every week as they get used to the league, they might have lost but it was only 2-0 to former champions Spartans who's Joe Wise scored both goals.
