NEWTON ABBOT MONDAY 6 A SIDE RESULTS - MATCH DAY 5
All teams were in attendance as we reached the halfway point of the season. We had some great games and the title race is now wide open again. Here's a look at the scores:
PREMIER LEAGUE
Former champions Newton Wanderers stunned leaders Six Offenders with an excellent performance to defeat Six Offenders 7-2 and close the gap to a point, Jordan Cook with a hat-trick for Wanderers. AFC Turkey are also in the running for top spot and are third and a point behind too, they put in a solid display to beat Beckwith's Ballers 2-0 with Peter Phipps scoring two great goals to secure the points. In the other game FC Fairways came up against a strong Murder On Zidane's Floor side with Kyle Gurney in a rich vein of scoring form as he bagged five in a 6-4 win for Zidane's.
GOLDEN BOOT RACE
At the halfway point of the season it's Newton Wanderers Ben Berrow who is topping the chart with 9 goals. Kyle Gurney with 5 goals last night moves just one behind him now while we have three players on 5 or 6 goals so the boot is very much up for grabs.
Big thank you to Steve for running the evening and to all our players, just a reminder that we are off next week for bank holiday so will be back on the 5th June. Thanks Rich
