It was a fantastic end to the Cowes Tuesday 6 a side season last night with Northwood Nobbers throwing everything bar the kitchen sink at AFC Sleaze to try and grab the goal they needed to lift the title. With some inspired goalkeepering, great defending and some wayward shooting the goal just wasn't forthcoming. Realsosobad had kept up the pressure with a 6-1 win over Ryde Saints in the early match so it was down to Nobbers to secure the win they needed. AFC Sleaze battled well and took an early lead only to be pegged back to 1-1 within seconds and that's the way it stayed meaning the title was Realsosobads by a point from Nobbers.
Congratulations to Realsosobad on lifting the first Cowes 6 a side league title. Well done to Northwood Nobbers on the runners up spot. It's been a great first season and a big thank you also goes to all the other teams and to our refs. There is no time to waste with the new season starting next Tuesday 6th October. A fresh start and a new challenge for all teams!
