It was good to pop down last night to see all teams in action at our Cowes Tuesday 6 a side league on the 3G at Cowes Enterprise College. All teams were in a attendance on a night that proved a little one sided in the majority of games with some big wins for the leading teams.
At the top of the table Old Guns all but sealed the title as they defeated Expected Toulouse who did have a few out this week and were without their goalkeeper. Really not the best time to face a rampant Old Guns side with captain Billy Chugg back in the team this week, the final score 19-1. Billy Chugg went three clear of teammate Josh Tombleson in the Golden Boot race as he grabbed 5 goals to Tombleson's 4 however they were both outscored on the night as Ross Lacey banged 7 in. Josh Lawton scoring the other 3. Ice Island raced into a big lead against St Mary's before a late fight back saw St Mary's net a few late goals, however Ice Island were out of sight by that point and won it 8-4 with Leon Stokes scoring an absolute banger into the top corner in the first half while Chance Higgins and Jake Holton managed braces.
In the other matches Notting Your Mum's Forest cruised to a 5-0 win over Pique Blinders as man of the match Mark Allen helped himself to a goal in a excellent all round performance from the Forest player. Matt Bates hit a double while John Bilton and Lewis Baker also scored. All Sorts FC boosted by new signing Max Foreman followed up last weeks win with another as they beat new team Rack Jussell FC 8-0. Foreman helped himself to a hat-trick while captain Callum Hatch capped a man of the match display with 4 goals, Reuben adding the other.
Thank you to all 8 teams and to our refs Jukesy and Reece. See you all next week for match day 13. Enjoy the sunshine and bank holiday weekend. Thanks Rich
