Great to see all 8 teams in attendance to finish off the Cowes Tuesday 6 a side season. What a season it's been with the top 4 teams only separated by two points at the end.
A massive congratulations go to Old Guns who actually came into the season late so had plenty of catching up to do but win after to win after win has seen them finally hit top spot on the last day. They did need Fake Madrid to do them a favour in their match with St Mary's though and they duly did with a tight 4-2 victory while Thorness Bay who were also in with an outside chance of the title if they could either score a bucket load of goals or Old Guns dropped points in their match. Thorness Bay had a difficult match against Ice Island however so scoring a ridiculous amount of goals was never really on the cards but they did pick up a 3-2 win with goals Wakeford, Godley and Youngson.
It was over to Old Guns now for the 8:40 game against Expected Toulouse, despite their best efforts Toulouse never looked like causing an upset as Old Guns secured the title in style winning 9-0. Captain Billy Chugg hitting 5 in his quest for Golden Boot while Tombleson 2, Cotton and Howard added goals. While Chugg has scoring for fun on one pitch leading marksman Dean Attrill got the couple of goals he needed to clinch the Golden Boot as Notting Your Mums Forest defeated Pique Blinders 5-1, Darren William also with a hat-trick in this match for Forest. Finally another congratulations goes to our MVP winner Billy Chugg with 6 awards this season. Remember you need to be registered as a player for your team to pick up these awards each week.
Thank you to all our teams this season. We will be back next week for the start of the new one. Also a big thank you to all our refs over the past few months, Calum, Jukesy, Chris, Nick and Dave. It's a hard job and we couldn't do all this without them.
