Our brilliant 8 teams in Cowes met again last night for week 7 of our season and despite the blustery, sometimes damp conditions all games were played and some good football was on show. The evening kicked off with a thriller of a game between Baines on Toast and Diverse Cowboys with the later just edging it 6 - 4 thanks to goals from Luke Chessell (2) Matthew Stride (2) and Oscar Grant. The win takes The Cowboys level on points with 3rd placed Millennials Plus who went down 6 - 1 to Old Guns on the adjacent pitch. Ross Lacey was on form with a hattrick for Old Guns while David Haynes, Alex Cotton and Jack Davies all chipped in to keep the pressure on St Marys at the top. The leaders keep winning though, 5 - 1 this week against Victor Moses Lawn, Macca with another 4 goals to take his season tally to 31 and to keep his side ahead of the pack in the title race as we reach the halfway point in the season. Elliot Bracken-Lamb's 2 goals helped his team to secure a comfortable 5 - 0 win over pointless Khedira Pin Drop, Alfie Tanner, Kian Mooney and George Stinton also on target in this one to lift Pique away from the bottom two and reset their goal difference to zero.
Great night guys, appreciate the flexibility on your kick offs this week, back to normal times next Tuesday.
Have a great week gents.
