Our new season of 6 a side in Cowes progressed nicely through round two of games last night with all 12 teams out in force to try and earn their side some points. St Marys and Pique Blinders both made it two wins from two games as they won 3 - 2 and 3 - 0 respectively. It's great to see Billy Chugg back and scoring again for Old Guns, his hattrick the difference against DBS as the former champions won 5 - 1 while Kian Mooney netted all three for Pique to leave Millersmayhem still searching for their 1st points after the 3 - 0 defeat. Champions St Marys were challenged by Unreal Madrid but just came through to win 3 - 2 and remain top in their title defence. Looks like a competitive season ahead though for everyone.
Division One is led by Robbin Ma Koch who have back to back wins under their belts. This week was an epic battle with Victor Moses Lawn that they just came out on top of 4 - 3. High praise given to referee Pete Cotton for handling this match up so well, his calmness and decisiveness allowing the game to progress in a positive manner with both teams going at it in a competitive manner. Well done Pete and both teams for a great game. Baines on Toast won 7 - 2 against Fill Her Wycombe thanks to a hattrick from Aaron Doncaster, backed up by a couple of tap ins from Owen Connolly to leave their team 2nd. Hit The Wheel enjoyed their 1st win thanks to a hattrick from Bones in a 4 - 2 win over Diverse Cowboys to kick start the season for them. It looks like we have two very competitive divisions in Cowes this season which is awesome. Can't wait to see how the campaign develops over the coming weeks.
Well done to everyone, especially Calum, Jukes and Pete for managing the night so well.
