The long wait is over as our Cowes Tuesday 6 a side league at Cowes Enterprise College continued as lock restrictions were eased. All 8 teams took to the pitches to play out match day 7 , the halfway point of the season!
A fantastic performance from Old Guns saw them turnover the leaders and champions Realsosobad 6-4 in the match of the day. Josh Tombleson hitting 4 goals along with a brace from captain Billy Chugg. Old Guns joined the league late but move up to 5th and will surely be title contenders next season. The defeat for Realsosobad gave Thorness Bay a chance to close the gap to 2 points which Dan Ward made sure of as he hit a hat-trick to sink Pique Blinders 5-2. New team Ice Island had a tough first match but will improve as the weeks go on, last night going down 7-3 to Fake Madrid. Finally there was a comfortable victory for Notting Your Mum's Forest who banged 9 goals against Expected Toulouse. Darrell Attrill with 4 in this one.
Huge thank you to all the teams and see you next week. Also thanks to our refs Calum, Dave and Chris. There might be a few tired legs next week with a few players having 11 a side matches earlier in the evening but would rather the tired legs than be stuck in lockdown again.
