OLD GUNS CHAMPIONS of COWES 6 a side - Tuesday

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our teams and officials in our Cowes Isle of Wight 6 a side league, we hope everyone had a good break and it was great to see so many of you back for the restart and of course the final games of this season.

Huge congratulations to Billy Chugg and his team OLD GUNS for picking up the league title this season, consistently putting in stella performances to finish with 24 points, 3 ahead of 2nd placed Ice Island in what has been a really good season for both sides. 

Old Guns secured the title with a 6 - 3 win over Pique Blinders, Billy Chugg netting 3 for the champions while Dan Mulroy also bagged a hattrick for The Blinders. Ice Island had an emphatic win to round of their season, winning 9 - 1 against Rack Jussell, Fin Phillips and Jordan Whittle both scoring 3. St Marys and Grease Monkeys both had to take points wins this week as some illness prevented All Sorts and Notting Your Mums Forest from playing. 

Billy Chugg picks up the golden boot with 38 goals, ahead of team mate Josh Tombleson with Jordan Whittle the best of the rest on 24 goals.

Big thanks to all the captains for your efforts throughout what has been a difficult season with the threat of covid looming but by communicating well with your teams and with us we have thankfully managed pretty well in this league. 

Thanks to Calum, Chris, Steve and all those who have officiated at these games this season, we will be rolling straight into the new season next week so keep an eye out for the new fixtures very soon.
