It was good to welcome new team All Sorts FC to our Cowes 6 a side league last night and to see all 7 other teams in attendance for match day 9.
Old Guns returned and strengthened their grip on top spot with a 7-3 win over an understrength Ashton Villa II side without their captain between the sticks. Man of the match Josh Tombleson scoring 4 and Ross Lacey banged a hat-trick for Old Guns. Ice Island jumped back up into second spot as they won 9-4 against Expected Toulouse with hat-tricks from Arron Ince and Callum Bowen Clarke plus goals from Jordan Whittle and two from captain Leon Stokes including a bullet header. Stokes also created four assists in a man of the match performance. Expected Toulouse played their part in the game with braces from Luke Warde and captain Owen Connelly.
Now onto the other two games where new boys All Sorts FC found it tough going in their first game against a rampant Notting Your Mums Forest winning 14-0. It does take a bit of time to settle into the league and find a way of playing so plenty of time to gel. Captain Stefan Price picked up the man of the match award for his part in the victory as he chipped in with two of the goals. The rest were spread throughout the team with Liam Slaven top scoring with 6. The other goals came from Ryan Bail 3, Lewis Baker 2 and Chad Oakley. Finally St Mary's made it back to back wins as they defeated Pique Blinders 3-1 with a Remi Rees hat-trick doing the damage. Elliot Bracken-Lamb with the reply for Pique and man of the match performance despite being on the losing side.
Thank you to all our teams and of course to our match night supervisor Calum along with refs Chris and Jukesy. See you all next week for match day 10. Thanks Rich
