The brand new season of 6 a side football at Curzon Ashton Football Club got off to a fantastic start on Sunday, as we saw a thrilling night of action to start the new campaign. The only downside was the non attendance of Fifth Avenue Athletic, and we will be in contact with the team captain to confirm they will be back as normal next week.
With the first set of results in, Team Chunky lead the way at the top of the Premier Division, as they beat Sex Drugs And Carlton Cole 5-3 in a pulsating match.
Sam Smith was on fire for Team Chunky, as he bagged four of his sides five goals, with Joe Birtles grabbing the other, and Smith will be hoping to continue his goal scoring form heading into next week's match against The Specially Selected. However, The Specially Selected will be no push overs, as they sit second after an impressive 3-1 victory over newly promoted Lord Bendtners Disciples.
In Division One, Real Slow And Bad sit top after receiving the 5-0 win, while Pique Blinders will be encouraged by their start to the new season as they won 2-1 against a well disciplined Class On Grass side, and the Blinders will be hoping they can go one better than last season and seal promotion to the Premier Division.
