Deeside Monday 5 a side football league continues to deliver excitement on the pitch as week 5 of the season saw some thrilling games in the Premier League division.
Boca Seniors faced a tough challenge against Flintshire Massive, who dominated the game from start to finish. Despite a spirited effort from Boca Seniors, Flintshire Massive emerged victorious, winning 13-4.
Barely Athletic took on Bosh Soldiers in another exciting match. However, it was Bosh Soldiers who emerged victorious, scoring four goals to Barely Athletic's one.
Meanwhile, Threefor1ner faced Fibrem FC in a closely contested match. Both teams had several chances to score, but it was Threefor1ner who managed to find the back of the net, securing a 1-0 win. Unfortunately, this game had to be abandoned with 6 minutes to go due to a player from Fibrem FC showing serious violent contact towards another player resulting in injury. This player will not be welcome back at the league and the team will be spoken with.
The league's most valued player for the week was Joshua Cooke from Barely Athletic. Cooke's outstanding performance on the pitch helped his team keep the scoreline respectable, despite their defeat against Bosh Soldiers.
