Leisure leagues Dereham returned last night for the long awaited season opener and it did not disapoint!
Beetley Pumas came flying out the blocks with hatricks for Lomax and Reeve as well as a couple of goals for Garrod and a solo effort from Lawrence to make this the record win in the leagues history (9-0). Redstar bellends will have better days and will need to use the lockdown to work on their defense, maybe a job for Big Sam.
Champions Chrinter Angels got off to a win with a solid performance against the much improved Remastered who could mount a title challenge this season. Pease and an Own goal was enough to get a 2-1 win despite a consolation from Simpson.
It was also a very impressive win for Paris Ganjaman with a new look squad picking up the win with a hatrick from Lewis and a Kingshot effort seeing off the new boys Swanton Morelys finest who go now into the break with much to work on but with better days ahead.
Unfortunately Put Matip in were forced to concede the game against Norfolk and chance but will be back stronger with 4 weeks now to recruit numbers for the squad. On their day they can ruck it with the best in the league so it will be interesting to see how they bounce back. Credit goes to Norfolk and chance for giving the Put matip in guys a chance to play by providing some players in an excellent show of sportsmanship.
Such a shame after just one game back we are now forced into lockdown again but this gives teams a few weeks to add to their squads ahead of what will be a long season.
We will be back Monday 7th December for 2 weeks before the xmas break and then hopefully we can return to weekly games in the new year.
