High-Octane Excitement in Week 2 of Plymouth Monday Football League
The Plymouth Monday 6-a-side Football league entered its second week with a flurry of goals across five divisions: Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4.
In the Premier League, Barely Athletic stamped their authority with a 3-0 win against Jive Turkeys, showcasing impressive teamwork and solid defense. Crouch Potato squeezed a victory against Lord Of The Wings in a closely contested 2-1 match. The highlight of the division, however, was the fierce encounter between ASAF and MoLeicesters, with MoLeicesters thrashing ASAF 9 - 1.
Division 1 saw Kia Picanto FC comfortably dispatch Bazooka That Viduka 4-0, while Eleven Thirty FC found their stride in a 5-2 triumph over Men In Black.
In Division 2, Lees Lions roared to a 5-2 victory against For The Fish FC. Law Abiding Sigurdssons kept a clean sheet, securing a 2-0 win against Manlow’s Mates FC. Elbybombers scored a decisive 4-0 victory against The Balotellitubbies.
Division 3's matches were equally competitive. I Need A Breather United overpowered Ball Of Duty 5-1, while Friendzone FC and Keith It Lemon clashed in a game that ended in a tense 1-1 draw.
In Division 4, Boi United beat Mr Men And Friends 3-1. Gurnow Mill eked out a 2-1 victory against Real Sosobad while Trousers Down 11 and Menheniot Rangers ended in a rare goalless draw.
Lastly, Division 5 saw Ajax Trees Down demolish Austin FC 5-0 while Packer Palace racked up a 7-1 drubbing against Shambles FC.
The top scorers of each division were Barely Athletic, Eleven Thirty FC, Lees Lions, I Need A Breather United, Boi United, and Ajax Trees Down respectively.
