Exeter's Tuesday 6 a side Football league proved to be a thrilling spectacle last night as teams vied for victory in the 8th week of the season at Exwick Sports Hub.
PREMIER LEAGUE
The Premier League saw some exciting matches, with Strawberry Moussa falling to 6 Bricks with a 6-3 scoreline, The Boys convincingly beating The Beans 5-2 as they climbed the table. Leaders Thirsty Beaver FC defeated HEAV CRESS 8-2 while Wacko FC powering past WSFC with an impressive 8-1 victory. The highlight of the Premier League was the exceptional performance of Morgan Maule from Wacko FC who scored an impressive 4 goals.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, The Mavericks came out narrowly on top against Diff Heads with a 3-2 win. Crackin Plurrs emerged victorious in a high scoring thiller against Rigor Mortys with a 6-5 win. The top scorer in this division was Mitch Ashdown from We Argue Fc who also scored a fantastic 4 goals as they won 6-1 away at Greggs. The big game in the division was the clash between leaders Saints and second place Come Digne With Me, in an end to end encounter neither team could get the upper hand as the game finished 3-3.
DIVISION TWO
Moving on to Division 2 where there were some really entertaining matches, second place Claudias Dream Boys emerged victorious in a closely contested match against Albanian Rozzers with a 5-4 scoreline with Matthew Tidmarsh from Claudias Dream Boys scoring 4 goals. Leader Boyzees had a comfortable evening as they defeated Goal Goal Power Rangers 9-2. Werder Beermen and Tiki Taka played out a thrilling 6-6 draw while another close game saw Pique Blinders win 4-3 against Chubby Alonso's.
DIVISION THREE
In Division 3, Exonian FC overshadowed Sands United FC Exeter with a massive 13-1 win to send shockwaves through the division, Daniel Eaton from Exonian FC scoring an astonishing 7 goals. Leaders Spoono Fernandes managed a narrow 2-1 win over Win Some Lose Some while Gundis rose into the promotion places with a 5-2 win at Partners. Finally in the lowest scoring game of the evening Only Fools And Scorers edged it 1-0 against EX United.
The most valued player of the week was Ben Mammola from Thirsty Beaver FC, who put in a stellar performance contributing significantly to his team's victory. As we move into Week 9, all eyes will be on these high performers to see if they can maintain their momentum.
