Happy New Year to everyone down at our Exeter Tuesday 6 a side league at Exwick Hub. It's been a long enough Christmas break with the last round of games nearly a month ago so it's great to be back.
There were four cracking matches in the Premier League to kick off the first week back after Christmas with an absolute epic match involving the leaders at the start of play Tremors and Chicken Tiki Taka, Taka coming out of it with an amazing 9-8 win. With Tremors losing, Los Conjonudos United took their chance to go top as they defeated Thirsty Beaver 7-4. Pie and Gravy also moved up into second with a narrow 2-1 win against Inter Yanan while Cherries won 3-1 against C.F Murrayball.
Div 1 didn't disappoint either with more great games taking place. Crystal Phallas climbed out of the bottom two as they held on for a fantastic 10-9 win against Tiki Taka. The leaders Queasy Nurples had a points match win with Allsports away this week, thank you to the guest team for coming in to play. Second place Hakuna Juan Mata narrowly defeated Private FC 2-1 while DX United are now level on points with them as they won 5-4 against Blood, Sweat & Beers.
There were more tight games in Div 2 as the leaders FCSB got the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory against Chubby Alonso's. They stay 4 points ahead of The Dons who beat Hardly Athletic 6-3. Win Some Lose Some move into third spot, a point off with promotion places after a 4-3 win against Unreal Madrid. Giroud Sandstorm did their survival hopes a power of good with a 3-1 win over International All Stars to move out of the drop zone.
Rigor Morty's continue to stride towards that perfect record this season in Div 3 as they made it 8 wins from 8, beating Tinpot Town 8-0 last night. Reus Crispies occupy the other promotion spot as they won 4-2 against Law Abiding Sigurdssons. Crackin Plurrs and Strawberry Moussa aren't out of it yet as both recorded 3-0 wins to keep the pressure on the top two, Plurrs beating Into Ur Grandad while Moussa defeated Sands.
It's great to be back, thank you to all teams and of course our refs, good to see Neil back down there. See you all next week for match day 9. Cheers Rich 07969 731086
