It was match day 12 at our Exeter Tuesday 6 a side league, with just two weeks remaining the title races in the majority of the divisions is pretty much done however the Premier League one moves onto next week and the promotion picture isn't clear across all divisions.
Premier League leaders Los Cojonudos United found Cherries in inspired form last night as they held them to a 2-2 draw. The draw moves them onto 19 points. Pie & Gravy had a chance to move to within a point however couldn't take advantage as they were also held, their draw came against third place Thirsty Beaver 3-3. The match of the day in the Prem saw Inter Yanan win a thriller with Chicken Tika Taka 8-7 to move up to 4th as Murrayball took on a guest side with Tremors away.
Queasy Nurples clinched the Div 1 title with a 6-2 win over DX United while Belters hold onto the second promotion place after a 5-2 victory against Tika Taka. Hakuna Juan Mata are still in with a good chance of promotion as they picked up a points match win with Blood, Sweat and Beers unable to raise a side at late notice. Thank you to the players that stayed on to give Hakuna a game. The other result in Div 1 was an important one at the other end of the table as Crystal Phallas gave themselves a chance of staying up as they defeated third from bottom Private FC 2-1, this win puts them level on points with Private.
FCSB picked up yet another win in Div 2 as the champions push towards an unbeaten season, last night winning 3-0 against Hardly Athletic. The race for the second promotion place is well and truly on as 5 teams could all still make it. The Dons currently sit on 14 points after a 2-2 draw with Giroud Sandstorm who are on 11 points down in 6th. Third place Win Some Lose Some have 13 points but lost 3-0 to 4th place International All Stars who are on 12 now. In the other result Unreal Madrid narrow defeated Chubby Alonso's 3-2 although their chances of survival still look unlikely with a 3 point gap to safety.
Rigor Morty's sealed the Div 3 title after a close contest with bottom side Law Abiding Sigurdssons, eventually holding on for a 4-3 win. Reus Crispies had a comfortable 8-1 win over Sands to remain in second however Strawberry Moussa are only a point behind after a 4-1 away win against Into Your Grandad. Finally Crackin Plurrs won 2-0 at home to Tinpot Town FC.
Thank you to Neil for running the evening and to all our refs and ball boy as usual. Big thank you to all our teams too, I know a few of you had to wait a long time to get into the league and we still have 10 teams waiting to get in now. Cheers Rich 07969 731086.
