Royal Wootton Bassett Monday match report
It was amazing to get the Leisure Leagues Royal Wootton Bassett Monday six a side at Gerard Buxton Sports Ground back up and running. Every team was in attendance which included some new additions to the league. With the sun beating down on the pitch the league could not have got back underway in better circumstances.
The first game of the night saw AC A Little Silhouette of Milan take on Athletic Bilbao Baggins it was an impressive return to action for Athletic as they steamed to a 4-0 win.
Equally impressive was The Underdogs display against Who Ate All Depays. They managed to secure a 0-0 draw when most observers of the league expected a comfortable victory for the men on orange.
In game 3 Pique Blinders continues their good form from before lockdown to put 4 goals past new boys Deportivo De La Greenhill. Deportivo did pull one back but the result helped Pique put more pressure on Exeter at the top of the league.
Game 4 saw The Unplayable’s take on 2 Goals 1 Cup. Once again, Uplayable’s captain Justin pulled it out of the bag with an inspired squad selection that was able to match the energy of the much younger 2 Goals 1 Cup. They came away as comfortable winners and will hope to kick on from here.
In the first of the late kick offs, new team Moyes in the Hood put 5 last Alexandre Lakofket in a devastating display on their debut in the league. The result shows that the team will be a forced to be reckoned with in the second half of the season.
Similarly, and in perhaps the most surprising result of the night, Exeter were held by new team Nalgo FC. By their own admission Exeter did not play their best football. However, take nothing away from Nalgo FC who will surely have a huge impact on the league with their high intensity brand of football.
Thanks to everyone that showed up. We can’t wait to see you again next week!
Thanks,
Dan
