New Gerard Buxton Sunday six a side gets underway

On the opening night of the Leisure Leagues Sunday six a side from Gerard Buxton Sports Ground teams finally got to take to the 4G and show everyone what they are made of. 

There were two points matches as Toit Nups and Exeter Gently, the two pre-season favourites inherited 5-0 wins. 

This meant that the game of the night was the match between Inter a the Van FC and Hardley Athletic. Both of these teams came from the Abbey Meads league and were keen to prove themselves on a different style of pitch. 

The game was full of action and end to end with both teams enjoying plenty of the ball. However, it was Hardley that created the better chances and eventually they came through the game to win 4-2. Justin Barnes got two to open his account for the season while Mitchell Hearn and Steve Hall got the others. Josh Gale and Matthew Hayden responded with two consolation goals.
