Goals Soccer Centre in Stoke this week announced that they will be permanently closing and not re-opening their doors when the current lockdown ends.
This
is incredibly sad news for the staff who work there and the players who
rely on the facility for their weekly exercise and football fix.
Here
at Leisure Leagues, we are committed to providing sustainable and
enjoyable small sided football leagues, and whilst it is not good to see
a prominent local football facility fall by the wayside, we want to
reassure all of our current and future players, referees and match night
officials that Leisure Leagues Newcastle Under Lyme will be restarting as
planned as soon as the current lockdown ends, which is currently
scheduled for 2nd December and giving us a restart date on Monday 7th
December.
We are also passionate about engagement and participation in sport, and the health and fitness of the nation, therefore we are extending an offer to anyone effected by the Goals Soccer Centre Hull closure. Any staff out of work can apply to become a Leisure Leagues referee (with possibilities to become a Match Night Supervisor) via our website, here -> https://www.leisureleagues.net/become-a-referee
Any teams left without a league to play in, we are offering Free Entry when you sign up to Leisure Leagues Newcastle Under Lyme here-> https://www.leisureleagues.net/league/gordon-banks-sports-centre/newcastle-under-lyme-monday
